Outstanding Student of Achievement Award
Every year RCT and Griffin Mill Garages present an Outstanding Student of Achievement Award. Each of the 19 schools in RCT can nominate one student for this award and this year our nominee is Lucie Christopher. Lucie will meet the judges and other nominees during an outdoor activity day to be held on 4th May at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel. The event will end with a gala dinner at the Holland House hotel,Cardiff in September where the achievements of all the nominees will be celebrated. The winner of the overall award will also be announced on the evening and presented with a fully taxed and insured car to use for one year. We wish Lucie the best of luck with this nomination.
University of Oxford Summer School
We are delighted to report that Katie Thomas, Year 12, has been offered a place on the University of Oxford’s UNIQ summer school 2012. Competition for these places is tough with 3400 students applying for 750 places this year. Katie will study Law for one week in August and will attend lectures and seminars by Oxford academics and be mentored by current undergraduates. There will also be the opportunity to take part in social activities and events.
